So far, I have not run many events with it. I ran one in late 2004, and about 5 events in 2005. One big impediment is not having a real tow vehicle. I've been using a borrowed V-6 Blazer which almost doesn't have enough power to pull the car & trailer, but it works ok for local events. The other big factor is that spending quality time with the family is first priority, so I'm trying to keep my autocrossing constrained.

2006: Ok, things have changed. Late in 2005 I purchased a 93 chevy diesel 4x4 3/4 ton and a 93 Haulmark Enclosed trailer. I have also volunteered to be on the SCCA WDCR solo committee.

2004

  • late 2004, Rosecroft raceway DC, first autocross in about 10 years.

2005

  • July 16, 2005 ripken evt – first event of the year. Extemely awkward driving, I felt so behind the car. (45.626, 44.272, 45.634, 44.089 – fSM=39.938; fSS=40.187]
  • July 29, 2005 nediv – day 1- Ok, almost caught up with the car :) (65.664(1), 64.501, 62.818 – fSM=57.778; fSS=57.271]
  • day 2-TPS broke?
  • Aug 14, 2005 DC event #4 – hot, hot, hot, felt better sliding around, and I felt like I was at least with the car and not behind it. Upon reflection later though, I realized I had too much oversteer. Will play wth tire pressures at next event. (78.503(1), 77.558, 85.633, 77.188 – fSM 69.773; fSS 71.052] PAX 150/232 -8.023off1
  • Sep 4, 2005 DC event #5 – upped rear tire pressure. Car felt so much better and more neutral. It's funny, I had gotten so used to sliding the rear around the turns, that I was unable to get a clean run for this event. I had at least one cone on every run. Also found myself driving from turn to turn. I NEED to be looking ahead, ahead, ahead...(64.812(2),63.683(1),63.526(1),63.285(1) – fSM=58.687; fSS=58.465 PAX 168/234 - 7.9off1 [last clean 63.2 PX 131/234 ~6.2off1]
  • Oct 9, 2005 DC event #6 – car felt good. I felt a little more comfortable, but still not looking ahead enough.(64.242(1),62.265,63.138,62.117 – fSM=57.878; fSS=57.028 PAX 106/213-5.189off1

2006

  • Mar T&T Ran lBlue - only 3 runs slow. I don't think I was mentally pysched for the runs. I just had it in my head I would run as a reminder. ( 66.269,64.761,64.448) fSM=55.510; fSS=53.107
  • Apr DC#1 Ran lblue - mildy moist course. More motions in a bone-stock 100k mile car. (84.502+1,82.725+2,82.948+1,81.109+1) fSM=71.808; fSS=68.669
  • May DC#2 Ran lblue - slow (60.756+1,60.082+1,59.669+2,59.612+1) fSM= 51.245; fSS=49.847- in fun runs after rode with IanB and RonS. Drove Ron's Celica to a 55.4 (Ron's best was 53.9) (55.4 would be PAX#40, but GS was skewed quite high for this event, plus my run was on toasty warm tires? Not bad though for my first FWD run ever.)
  • Jun-x-DC#3-missed - at CLP.
  • Jul 16-DC#4 Finally ran with new updates. Like a totally different car, but I drove like a wus boy. WAY too much braking. I also have to get use to the wider stance now. (69.092+3,67.524+1,66.241+1,66.694) fSM=61.559; fSS=60.692 PAX 183/267 ~6.4off1
  • Jul 30-DC RK-WooHoo, slicks are fun. This was a charity event, but fun, fun, fun! A promising last run, but more to do. Results skewed since it's not a series event. (59.495,59.098+1,61.363+1,58.079+2) fSM=58.245; fSS=55.514; PAX 90/243 ~4.5off [clean last? P:61/243~3.4]
  • Aug 13-DC#5 Wow, this is starting to get really fun. Still a bit loose. Must get LSD. (64.320+1,55.775+OC,56.111,55.164) fSM=53.965; fSS=52.990; PAX 50/245 ~2.5off
  • Aug 26-RideNDrive. Just a fun event. 40.5, 581pts. ~30ish in DC, ~180 Nationwide?. but, but, but...
  • Sep 3-DC #6 Loose, mucho wheel spin, thrown off by course - bad driving! (69.755,63.919,72.272,63.801+1) fSM=61.806;fSS=60.757;PAX 97/254 ~3.9off
  • Oct 8-DC#7 Loose, lots of wheel spin, sloppy driving, spun twice, never a clean run (72.775+4,49.206+3,55.856+2,50.834+3) fSM=45.812;fSS=46.534;PAX 212/235
  • post-event fun runs, BG(50.x;49.x) and IB(51.x,50.x) ran to confirm car is more of an issue at this point. My plan is to run one more event this year without the rear bar & see what happens.
  • Oct-20-AI #5 fun event to check vehicle changes (I tried swapping F/R tires sets, but silly me, I also made alignment changes). Anyway, the first two runs, I could not get the front to stick, so I think that tire set is toast, but the second two I felt like I drove slower, but went faster, so I'm not sure if it's tires or alignment that made the difference. Now I know why it's said to only change one thing at a time-duh. The plan is to swap tires around and run again. times eck all-dirty (47.662+2,46.593+1,46.238+2,47.139+1) fSM=46.612;fSS=43.062 92/121
